I watched a Bollywood movie in the cinema once and it was Hindi-English so it's actually ok to follow and grasp what is going on! The atmosphere in the cinema was fantastic with people dancing and singing along, don't let not having subtitles put you off
You might have seen people singing and dancing on catchy numbers but there is no subtitles displayed in any language. Unless for eg you went for a Hindi movie and some part are shooted in vernacular language.
